Jerry Armitage, age 56, of Willard, Ohio passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Hospice of North Central Ohio in Ashland, Ohio after a 3 month illness. He was born November 11, 1954 to Arlyn Leroy Armitage and Wilma (Auck) Armitage. He married Kathy Hicks on April 29, 1978
He built his business, Armitage Collision Center from ground up and did many more projects during his short life. He always had a mission to get things done. He could do more in one day than others could do in a month.
He will be missed by his family and missed by so many others. He had a contagious laugh that will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kathy (Hicks) Armitage; 2 sons, Jarrod Lee Armitage of Willard and Blaine (Theresa) Armitage of Shelby; daughter, Kara Joy Armitage and son-in-law to be Jeff Stanfield of Willard; granddaughter, Mekeyla A. Armitage of Shelby; his dog, Bubba; brother, Dennis (Debbie) Armitage of Willard, sister, Barb (Karl) Langoehr of Galion; mother-in-law, Avanel Hicks; sisters-in-law, Wanda Brown, Peggy (Mike) Holbrook, Betty (Karl) Stein, Patty (Dennis) Giles, Joni (Ric) Wilson; brother-in-law, Ricky Hicks; numerous nieces and nephews; great long time friend, Mike S. Phillips.
He is preceded in death by his father, Arlyn Leroy Armitage; son, Jerry Lee Armitage Jr., brother, Allen Armitage and father-in-law, John Hicks.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-9 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio and from 11:00-1:00 on Monday at the Willard Church of God on Willard West Road. The funeral service will be Monday at 1:00 P.M. at the Willard Church of God with Rev. Greg Griffith officiating. Burial will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio in Ashland, Ohio. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.secorfuneralhomes.com

Kathy, I am so deeply sorry that Jerry passed away after such a hard fight. I am very thankful that I stopped and saw both of you the last time I was home visiting my family. Jerry was a wonderful friend all through high school and I know your loss will be felt by many people that knew him.

It was very sad to hear of the struggle that Jerry & your family faced the past few months, & more so to hear of Jerry’s death.
