Karen – I am very sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. I will keep this brief and hopefully we can chat in person once your sorrow subsides. I know it’s been a long time since we’ve talked but I’m not much for class reunions. Fortunately, the demands of career and raising three children continually presented a convenient excuse to “attend the next one.” My timing is not great but I wanted to let you know that I recently thought of your dad and his influence on my development – everything from my pursuing research at OSU to completing graduate studies to a career in pharmaceuticals. Berkeley is where I met my wife of 21 years and we just love California. In a way, he’s partly responsible for where I am today through his encouragement to pursue what others doubted I could do. I just wanted to let you know that his efforts, kind words, and support are appreciated and made a world of difference in who I am today. He will be missed and I hope you’re proud of what he stood for and know that he helped me to grow and become successful.
Thanks, Brian
