Vicki Gilger, age 65, resident of Shiloh, Ohio, formerly of Sunbury, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at her residence. She was born on June 23, 1951 in Shelby, Ohio to the late John and Betty (Echelbarger) Gilger. Vicki was employed as a laboratory supervisor for the State of Ohio. She enjoyed constructing leaded glass work, reading and needle work. Her animals, horses, cats and dogs, were her everything in her life.
She is survived by a sister, Sandy Courtright of Plymouth; a brother, Daniel “Butch” (Barb) Gilger of Plymouth; a niece, Laura Courtright of Port Clinton; three nephews, Paul Courtright of Lowell, MA, Robert (Jamie) Gilger of Shelby, and Jason (his deceased wife Kelly) Putt of Greenwich; two great nieces, Brooklyn Kelly Gilger, Haley Putt; a great nephew, Jacob Putt; and many extended family members and friends.
A special thanks to friends, Melissa, Kris, Shelly, Deb, John and Norma for the special care they gave Vicki.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece, Kelly Putt.
Per Vicki’s wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in Vicki’s name to the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.secorfuneralhomes.com

Riding horses and playing basketball with Vicki..it seems like it was only yesterday that we did those things together. We had fun. Her long struggle is over and she is now galloping toward her next adventure. Enjoy the ride, Vicki!
