Lawrence "Herk" Hershiser age 87, resident of Willard passed away on December 30, 2024 at The Willows of Willard. He was born on September 21, 1937 in Willard to the late Almon & June (Hart) Hershiser. Larry graduated from Willard High School. He was a member of the City Church in Willard. Larry worked at R.R. Donnelley in Willard for 48 years and retired in 1999. He was an Army Veteran who proudly served from 1957-1962.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle (Dotson) Hershiser whom he married on August 17, 1961; one son, Dwayne (Shelley) Hershiser of Willard; granddaughters Brittney Wayman (Andrew Getchey) and Breighton Hershiser both of Willard, and grandson Blaine Hershiser (Lauren Ferrell) of Wooster, great-grandchildren Amariah, Zayden and Breanna, sisters-in-law Pam Dotson and Fran Dotson and numerous nieces and nephews
He is preceded in death by his infant daughter, April Dawn; his parents Almon and June Hershiser, sister (brother-in-law) Shirley Roeder (Gene) and brothers (sisters-in-law) Almon (Fern) Hershiser, David (Wanda) Hershiser, Ronald (Geraldine) Hershiser and Marvin (Irene) Hershiser, Brother-in-laws Dusten (Leo) Dotson and Robert Dotson, nephews James Hershiser, Kelly Kimble, Mike Kimble, Paul Dotson and Kim Hershiser, and niece Connie Dials.
Friends may call at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the time of his funeral service at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Matt Kennard officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Willard. Memorial contributions can be made to the Care to Share of Willard c/o Kay Carr and left at Secor's.
