Marvin Richard Bumb, age 66, of Millersburg, Ohio, entered into eternal rest peacefully on August 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the Life Care Center in Medina, Ohio.
Born on September 4, 1958, in Bellevue, Ohio, to Harold and Gertrude (Faeth) Bumb, Marvin lived a life rooted in faith, family, integrity, and hard work. Marvin’s life was filled with love, laughter, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to his family and friends. Known for his humor, high integrity, big heart, and passion for farming, Marvin touched countless lives. While we will miss his presence deeply, the warmth and love he gave to others will remain with us always. Forever in our hearts, never out of our memories.
Marvin married the love of his life and fellow classmate, Christine (Wise) Bumb, and together they celebrated 47 years of marriage. He was a devoted father to Ashley (Paul) Ratcliff and Brandon (Haley) Bumb, and a proud grandfather to Noah Ratcliff, Braden Bumb, and Bryer Bumb. He is also survived by his parents, Harold and Gertrude (Faeth) Bumb, his four younger siblings, Renee, Rachelle, Gary, and Ronald, his godmother, Carol Ann (Bumb) Lepley, mother-in-law, Ruth Ann (Maudsley) Wise, brothers-in-law Glen (Diane) Wise and Scott Wise, niece Alexis Wise, and nephew Dalton Wise. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles & Lucille Bumb, Frank & Edna Faeth, and his father-in-law, Sylvestor Wise.
A 1976 graduate of Seneca East High School in Attica, Ohio, Marvin’s passion for farming began as a young boy and became his lifelong calling. For more than 50 years, he worked the land with dedication, integrity, and pride, earning the respect of his community and the love of those who knew him. His wishes were for his love of farming to live on through his wife, children, grandchildren, and lifelong friends at OB Acres, LLC., carrying forward the legacy he dreamed that would provide for his family for generations. Through them, his passion continues, fulfilling his hope that the farm would grow to support those he loved.
Marvin was a faithful Catholic throughout his 66 years. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus in Venice, Florida, for 5 years, and he served his community for over 28 years as a member of the Huron County Fair Board.
Outside of his work and service, Marvin found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandsons, attending their sporting events, and creating treasured family memories. For the past 16 years, he embraced the role of “snowbird,” wintering in Venice, Florida, a tradition he cherished without fail. Even during his battle with cancer, he always made sure to attend the Atlanta Braves Spring Training games in Florida. There was never a distance too far for a great chicken dinner and a good slice of pie. Holidays held a special place in his heart, and he never missed watching “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” or gathering with family and friends to celebrate. Marvin was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and made sure to attend as many home games as possible.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 5:30pm-8:30pm at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Hope in Attica, Ohio, with Father Ronald Schock officiating. The Recitation of the Rosary will also be held at 10:30am at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Attica, Ohio. Interment will follow at Saint Peter and Paul Cemetery, Attica, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association to support ongoing glioblastoma research and patient support. Memorial contributions can also be made to Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Attica, Ohio.
The family of Marvin Richard Bumb wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of The Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, Danbury Millersburg, the Life Care Center of Medina, the Western Reserve Hospice, Secor Funeral Home, and Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church for their compassionate care and support.
Marvin’s family is also deeply grateful for the many friends, neighbors, and caregivers who surrounded him with love and prayers.
