Lallah “Ruth” Sharp passed away peacefully at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio on September 16, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 22, 1943 in Plymouth, Ohio to the late Henry and Martha (Redden) Van Loo.
Ruth graduated from high school in 1961 and worked as a secretary for years. She attended cosmetology school and eventually opened her own beauty shop, Ruth’s Beauty Boutique. During her life, Ruth enjoyed working and raising her children-She loved painting and decorating her home, planting and tending to her flower gardens and playing with her Yorkies.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Alfred Sharp, her children Raymond “Gary” (Jan) Bouman, Natalie Stockmaster, Veronica “Roni” Arnott and Jenny Acker. Also surviving are her grandchildren Sara Beldon, Kathryn MacGillivray (Nick), and Alex Holden and great grandchildren Briggs Beldon, Bryson and Brynley MacGillivray, Brother and sisters-in-law Connie (Don) Mitchell and Lessie (Rick) Webb, and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Martha VanLoo, brothers Joel (Carol) Van Loo and Raymond Van Loo and grandson-in-law Mark Beldon. Also preceding her in death were her treasured yorkies Cody and Abby.
Ruth’s family would like to give a special thanks to Miranda, Michael and James at Cleveland Metro Hospital and to all of the staff at Stein Hospice in Sandusky for their great care and support.
Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 11:00 AM until the time of her funeral service at 1:00 PM with Pastor Dave Van Laar officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio.
