Nancy (Molz) Cherry, 88, of Willard, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Sunday, February 8, 2026, passing peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Nancy lived a life marked by steadfast faith, joyful service, and deep devotion to her family. She was a loving mother to five, grandmother to nineteen, and great-grandmother to twenty-three. Whether she was teaching, playing the piano or organ, or pouring into the lives of children and families at church, school, or the community, Nancy carried a steady spirit and a warm, contagious joy. Many will remember her as someone who could always find laughter on any day... often with a smile and a lighthearted comment ready at the tip of her lips.
Nancy was known for always being up for a good laugh, as well as her love for spending time with her family, and her faithful daily Bible reading, devotions, and prayers. She didn't just speak her faith, she lived it openly and boldly.
Nancy taught Christian school for many years at Heritage Christian School in Sandusky and Harvest Temple Christian Academy in Clyde, teaching everything from kindergarten to high school girls' P.E., Charm class, Home Economics, and whatever else was needed. She also served faithfully in her church, teaching Sunday School and playing the piano or organ since she was 14 years old. She lovingly served beside her husband wherever needed, and always with a servant's heart.
Nancy received the Lord as her personal Saviour as a young lady, and faithfully served Him throughout her life. Her family has full assurance that she lived her faith in Christ alone, and that she is now walking the streets of gold in the presence of Christ her Saviour. Not because she was faithful, but because of Biblical conviction that led to her repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, who died, was buried, and rose again for all who will Biblically receive Him. Nancy's earthly witness lives on.
She was preceded in death in 2021 by her beloved husband of over 60 years, Ralph Cherry.
Nancy is survived by her children: Jonathan Cherry of St. Louis, Missouri; David (Jill) Cherry of Willard; Tim (Sandy) Cherry of Columbia, Missouri; Becky (David) Carpenter of West Salem; and Matthew (Shellie) Cherry of Willard; along with 19 grandchildren: Trevor Cherry, Lydia (Steven) Howard, Logan Cherry, Micah Cherry, Jacob Cherry, Benjamin (Sarah) Cherry, Cady (Garrett) VerBurg, Ruth Cherry, Paul (Shellby) Cherry, Andrew (Desiree) Cherry, Emily (Caleb) Lind, Kimmy Hrivnak, Bailey (David) Ramsey, Knoble Carpenter, Garrett Carpenter, Holly Adkins, Tia Cherry, Krystal (Noah) Hessler, and Brandon Cherry; and 23 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church, 727 S. Myrtle Ave, Willard, OH 44890.
