With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Sheilla Gibson, who passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026 at the age of 78.
She was the heart of our family—a woman whose greatest joy in life was the people she loved. Nothing made her happier than having her home filled with family, laughter, and love, especially during the holidays. Her house was more than just a place to gather; it was a home where everyone felt welcome, cared for, and cherished.
Sheilla was the most selfless and giving person. She was always the first to offer a helping hand, a warm meal, a comforting hug, or words of encouragement. Her love knew no limits, and she gave so much of herself to those around her without ever expecting anything in return.
Her family was the center of her world. Specifically, there was something especially magical about the love she shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought an unmistakable light to her life. With every laugh, every hug, every visit, and every milestone they shared, she gave each of them a piece of her heart. Her greatest hope was that they would always know how deeply and unconditionally they were loved.
While our hearts ache with her absence, we find comfort in imagining her at peace, reunited with her beloved son, Jason, whom she missed beyond words. Though we grieve the time we have lost with her, we take solace in believing they are together again, embraced in the love that neither time nor distance could ever erase.
Her legacy is one of love, compassion, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. She taught us that the greatest gift we can give one another is our love, and that gift will remain with us forever.
She was born on June 4, 1948, in Willard, Ohio, to the late Harold and Ruth (Kilgore) Feltner. Sheilla has worked in Willard at Pioneer before retiring from Pepperidge Farm. She enjoyed cooking, but most of all, taking care of people and making people happy, especially her son and husband.
She is survived by her husband, Edward “Junior” Gibson II, whom she married on July 3, 1968; son, Edward “Eddie” Gibson III; grandchildren, Noel, Riley and Nathan; 3 great grandchildren; brother, John (Barbara) Feltner; special niece, Jolie (Matthew) Tridico; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded by a son, Jason Gibson and a brother, Harold Feltner.
Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio, on Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 1:00 PM until the time of her service at 3:00 PM with Pastor Danny Hamilton officiating.
