John Z. Horst, age 37, son of Alvin & Esther Horst, 5693 Hazelbrush Road, Shelby, OH 44875, died very peacefully at home on Nov. 11, 2005. He was born in Narvon, PA on Aug. 12, 1968. He was a member of the Springmill Old Order Mennonite Church. He was the owner and operator of the Hazelbrush Lawn & Garden in Shelby and was also a farmer.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by 4 brothers and 5 sisters, Elton husband of Judy Zimmerman Horst of East Earl, PA, Nelson husband of Twila Zeiset Horst of Shelby, Alvin Jr. husband of Lucille Oberholtzer Horst of Shelby, Raymond husband of Lois Zimmerman Horst of Shelby, Erla wife of Paul Burkholder of Plymouth, Anita wife of Amos Martin of Shelby, Mary Ann wife of Sylvan Zimmerman of Plymouth, Martha wife of Daniel Shirk of Shelby and Eva Jane Horst at home; 23 nieces & nephews; paternal grandmother, Ada Horst.
He is preceeded in death by a stillborn sister, Marlene; paternal grandfather, Ervin Horst; maternal grandparents, Noah & Lizzie Zimmerman.
Calling hours are from 1-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. on Monday, Nov. 14, 2005 at his parents house, 5693 Hazelbrush Road, Shelby. Services will be on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005 at 9:30 A.M. at the Springmill Mennonite Church in Shelby with burial to follow in Springmill Cemetery. The family asks that flowers be omitted. The Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth is in charge of arrangements.
