I too, was a very lucky student who attended St. Bernard’s and had the privilege of having Mrs. Stump for 2nd Grade. I feel fortunate to have been able to introduce her to my boys as “my favorite teacher”. She made each one of her students feel so special. In addition to learning the basics, she taught us how to square dance! We received “pop” for good spelling tests, cookies and other treats too. She always had a smile on her face and hugs to give. Since I have graduated college and moved back to New Washington, I have once again had the opportunity to see Mrs. Stump. I saw her at Buckeye Central one day and found out she mentored students that needed some extra help – I hope they know how lucky they were! My heart goes out to your family in your time of sorrow. May you find comfort knowing how your mom left a legacy behind her. . .we will never ever forget her.
