To Charlie…
My ‘Book of Life’ that I have been writing for 53 plus years has many of chapters and paragraphs containing the Arnold name.
From being great friends basically from day one of our lives from the Emerald/Main St neighborhood all the way through High School and into our young adult life,we could certainly been considered two peas in a pod.
It actually got to the point of our friendship that I thought that I was blessed with 2 set of parents, mine and yours.Talk about having security!!
And from us hunting to fishing,to hot cars to motorcycles, man did we have it going on.Those days of riding our sleds,I’m surprised trouble did not find us more often. But it always seemed to be a safe haven when we were all together.Fond memories and folklore story telling at it’s best.
But then,in walks adulthood. My profession has me relocating to Fremont, you and Connie start a family, new chapters and paragraphs to write about from both of our perspectives.
Those chapters about you and me sort of distance themselves over the last few years, not on purpose…but that’s just how life works.
We have so many irons in the fire,it’s just tough to tend to them all.And that is certainly understandable!
Maybe God should of gave us 48 hours in a day instead of the 24,that way we all could have accomplished more.
So, anyways….I’ll continue writing my book of life. And in future chapters and paragraph I am quite sure that the Arnold family will be mentioned on a regular basis. It’s only right that should happen.
53 years of being friends kind of goes a long way. I know for that the short time you have left us,the world seems to be a little ‘odd’ in it’s own way.
I just want to say:
“Charlie….even though our friendship has been long distance of late, your still a brother of mine, and I will cherish that for the rest of my days.” Full Throttle my friend !!! Stortsie
