Shirley M. Wallace, age 83, of Shiloh, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the home of her daughter, Misty, after a short illness.  Shirley was born on March 1, 1939 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Lark and Draxie Newsome.

Shirley graduated from Floyd County High School and she moved to Ohio after graduation.  She worked at Fannie Mae Candy and then went on to work at Quality Care Nursing Home as a supervisor and retired in 2001.  On June 1, 1962 in Virginia, she married Richard Wallace.  Shirley’s favorite pastimes were spent doing her word search puzzle books and watching “Law and Order” and “NCIS”.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Natalie (Bob) Sallee and Misty (David) Williams; 2 grandchildren, Jill (Shaun) Kegley and Richard “Josh” (Krystal) Sallee; 5 great grandchildren, Logan, Lily and Lauryn Kegley and Kayla and Ezra Sallee; 4 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren with 2 on the way; brother, David (Judy) Newsome of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Mary King of Westerville, Ohio and Jill Mosley of Harold, Kentucky; and a special sister-in-law, Shirley Newsome.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dick Wallace; sisters, Annabelle Davis and Avalean Martin; brothers, Fred Newsome, Effort Newsome, Ralph Newsome and infant brother, Jackie Newsome.

The family would like to thank Samantha from Promedica Hospice for the excellent, above and beyond, care she provided for Mom.

Aunt Shirley had a beautiful smile and a contagious chuckle/laugh that made people notice. This picture is not who I remember. Just now finding out you are gone as are your sisters. Now you can smile again Aunt Shirley.

So sorry for your loss. I loved working with Shirley at Quality Care! I always wanted us on the same weekends because she always got things done! She was a hard worker and I loved her recipes she would share! She always talked about her girls! Prayers!
