Alan L. Smith, age 59, resident of Attica, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019, at Mercy Willard Hospital. He was born on October 6, 1959, in Willard, Ohio, to Kenneth and Frances (Angelbeck) Smith.

Alan was a Willard High School graduate and had worked construction with Herbst Construction in Sandusky, where he enjoyed operating the large heavy equipment. Alan liked to cook, especially grilling. He was an outdoors man, enjoying gardening, mowing grass, and doing anything that requires being outside. He would do anything for anybody. If anyone needed help around the house, you could always count on Alan to be right there to lend a hand. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Frances Smith; three siblings, David (Kimberly) Smith, Annette Smith, and John (Alice) Smith; fiancé', Lynn Moore; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Alan was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Smith; and a nephew, Steven Shirey.

Family and friends may gather at Christian Alliance Church in Willard on Thursday, September 5, 2019, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, where a memorial service will take place at 6:00 PM, with Pastor Barton McKelvey officiating. Aunt Ann and family, you are all in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time. I want to leave you with this verse from Thessalonians: But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. Love, Mar & Harry
