Arabella C. Bordner, age 95, resident of New Washington, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2008 at the Hillaside Acres Nursing Home in Willard. She was born on April 29, 1913 to the late Daniel and Esther (Kurtz) Kark and has been a resident of New Washington all of her life. Mrs. Bordner was a teller at the Farmers State Bank and a member of the United Methodist Church in New Washington and the New Washington Garden Club.
She is survived by one son, Terry Hines of Plymouth; one daughter, Cheryl (Sam) Postema of Celeryville; two granddaughters, Nicole (Daniel) Schiefer of Attica and Brandi Hines of Wooster, Ohio and two great-grandchildren Lillian and Evan Schiefer.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, George Hines; her second husband, Thoburn “Tuffy” Bordner; one sister, Isabelle Meyers; one brother, John Kark and twin great-grandsons Derrick and Zachary Schiefer.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, where the funeral service will be Thursday at 3:00 P.M., with Rev. Leonard Riemersma officiating. Burial will be at the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery in North Auburn, Ohio. Memorials may be made to the Hillside Activities Fund or to Southern Care Hospice .
