Barbara Smith, age 72, resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. She was born on October 27, 1942 in Willard to the late Phil and Marjorie (Duncan) Hampton and had been a life long resident. Barbara attended the First Baptist Church, graduated from Willard High School in 1960 and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her grandson, Teaque A. Henderson of Columbus; a sister, Rosemary (Robert) Durr of Willard; three brothers, Daniel Hampton of Fostoria; Donald (Judy) Hampton of Fostoria; and Kenneth Hampton of Willard; brother-in-law Thomas (Carol) Smith of Norwalk and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Smith; daughter, Alfreda M. Smith in 2006; a brother, Phillip Hampton, Jr.; and two nephews, Randy Durr and Bryant Hampton.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Willard, Ohio. My heart broke learning of Barb’s passing. She was an extra special person with the heart & determination many only dream of having. Teague, know that she loved you deeply…you gave her purpose and got her through the lose of Alfreda. Also know that you now have two wonderful Angels watching over you! Peace & prayers.

growing up in willard & graduating in 1960 with barbara ,i feel blessed to have known her. thanks for the memories.barb was blessed: blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy; blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see god; blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of god. The WHS Class of 1961 send our heartfelt condolences to the family. Barb was a year ahead of us in school but will be remembered as a friend to each of us. She had an award winning smile each time you would see her walk the halls of WHS. May you always reflect on the wonderful memories you had as her family. She will be missed but not forgotten.

Aunt Barb, You were an amazing woman whom the world will greatly miss. When you get to heaven please look for my mommy ( Phyllis Neeley ) and tell her I miss her everyday, and that I love her. Oh and another thing, I’m sure she will be making you some cornbread ? I love you Aunt Barb <3
