Barry D. Tuttle, age 60, of Plymouth, Ohio, passed away at Parkview Care Center in Fremont, Ohio on Monday, May 31, 2021.  He was born on February 28, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Wayne and Clara (Jones) Tuttle.  Barry was a 1979 graduate of Plymouth High School, was a member of the Plymouth American Legion and had retired from the Post Office in Mansfield, Ohio.  He was a 10-year veteran of the U.S. Navy and was awarded 2 Navy Achievement Medals, 2 Bronze Stars, a Humanitarian Service Medal, the Navy Expeditionary Service Medal and he was the undefeated heavy weight boxing champion representing the USS Ranger.  In High School, he lettered in all sports and loved competing.  His passion was football and said his best experiences were playing under coach Mike McFarren, but mostly it was his guidance as a positive role model.

Our sincere condolences to all the Tuttle family. I never heard a person say a negative thing about Barry. He was a pleasure to know, and always stopped to talk when he would see me. Lots of good memories.

Barry was one of my best friends growing up! During those high school years I spent a lot of time with Barry and cannot begin to tell you all of the stories I have on him... Not too long ago he called me to tell me about his sickness and we spent some time discussing how to go forward. We discussed how Coach McFarren would advise him, So I have no doubt Barry faced this difficult opponent head on till the very end!! I will miss my close friend and will never forget him. GO BIG RED!!

Dear, dear Kathy, I was so, so sorry to hear of Barry's passing. I truly am at a loss for words. You are in my thoughts and prayers - and always in my heart. I hope that we are able to get together at some point to hug and talk - and most importantly to honor Barry. Until that time comes, know that your 'sisters' are thinking of you and sending their love. Much love, Sunny

So sorry to hear of Barrys passing, lost touch a couple years after school but he was always so funny, biggest tale I remember him telling of how he had a nightmare where he had a giant ice cream sundae and only a tiny baby spoon to eat it with. Prayers for comfort and strength to the family. Barry was like a 4th or 5th cousin to me.

So sorry for your loss. I was a year ahead of Barry in school and played football with him. So many good memories and stories, especially his pre-game rituals. The few times I ran into him after school, it was a pleasure talking to him. He never changed, Prayers and thoughts are with his family.

We were so sorry to hear of Barry's passing. We've known Barry for a long time and have great thoughts of him, playing football, leaving for the service and returning to Plymouth. Barry was always a lot of fun to be around. We have never forgotten Barry with that interception in football - we were so thrilled for him. Our prayers are with Kathy and and son Thomas. Rest in peace Barry.
