Betty Gilger, age 91, of Shiloh, OH, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Willows of Willard. She was born on April 10, 1925 in Huron County to the late Don G. and Margurite (McBride) Echelbarger. She was formerly of Eastern Stars and enjoyed crocheting and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Vicki Gilger of Shiloh, OH and Sandy Courtright of Plymouth, OH; a son, Daniel “Butch” (Barb) Gilger of Plymouth, OH; grandchildren, Rob (Jamie) Gilger of Shelby, Paul Courtright of Lowell, MA, Laura Courtright of Port Clinton and Jason Putt of Greenwich; great grandchildren, Haley and Jacob Putt and Brooklyn Gilger; sisters, Donna Dawson of Shelby, OH; Lucille Ross of Plymouth, OH and Gertrude Beatty of Greenwich, OH.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John B. Gilger; granddaughter Kelly Putt; 3 sisters Dorothea Arnold, Jeanette Broderick and Ella Jean Albert; and a brother, Mac (Carol) Echelbarger.
Friends may call at Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, OH on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. A funeral service will be Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Blanche Tyree officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh.
