Betty L. Smith, age 90, formally of Willard, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at U.H. Samaritan Medical Center in Ashland, Ohio.
She was born September 8, 1934 in Willard, Ohio to the late Alton and Helen (Hart) Woodworth.
Betty was a 1952 graduate of North Fairfield High School. After graduation she attended Oberlin Business College. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Willard and was a 70-year member of the Eastern Stars Althea Chapter #438 Monroeville, Ohio.
On March 7, 1954 she married her high school sweetheart, Donald L. Smith. They had a long and loving marriage of 69 years.
Betty was secretary of her husband’s business Concrete Finishers Inc. until retirement.
She loved her winter trips to Bradenton. FL where they went for many years. They enjoyed camping and traveling together.
Betty is survived by her children, Raymond (Nancy) Smith of Fairview Park, Ohio, Cheryl (Ron) Kessler of Mansfield, Ohio and Mark (Sue) Smith of Willard; 7 grandchildren, Jason Kessler, Erin (Ian) Isch, Matthew (Mary) Smith, Bret Kessler, Cory Smith, Kaylee (Cody) Tanner and Ashley Smith; great grandchildren, Meredith Kessler, Olyve Isch, Adelynn Isch, Elynn Isch, Brielle Smith, Evan Smith and baby boy Tanner on the way; sister, Helen (Marvin) Daniel; brother, Edwin (Donna) Woodworth and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald L. Smith; parents, Alton and Helen (Hart) Woodworth and brother, Van T. Woodworth.
The family would like to thank the Waterford of Mansfield, Brethren Care of Ashland and all of her care givers, especially Dr. Jessica Yonley.
Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Betty’s funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio with Pastor Mike Leonard officiating.
