Carl E. Zorich, age 97, resident of Sandusky, Ohio passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025. He was born on August 30, 1927 in Rivesville, West Virginia to the late Pete and Bessie (Lane) Zorich.
Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army for 11 years; seeing time in both World War II and the Korean War. He was employed at Western – Maryland as a production checker before working at the Sandusky Ford Plant, from where he retired. A favorite pastime of Carl’s was walking down to the bay, hand in hand with his late wife, sipping coffee and eating breakfast sandwiches. He also enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Carico; three grandsons, Kyle, Samuel and Aaron (Lindsey) Putnam; four great grandchildren, Kaden, Corinne, Kinley and Audrey; and step children, Carolyn (Gwynn) Ockerman, Harold (Marcella) Handshoe and Veta Handshoe.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette (Issac) Zorich, who passed away on January 12, 2012; and 5 siblings.
In honoring Carl’s wishes, private family services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven. Secor Funeral Home in Willard in honored to be assisting Carl’s family with arrangements.
