Carol E. Shaarda, 77, of New Haven, Ohio passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Willard Healthcare after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 23, 1934 in Attica, Ohio to the late Jacob Walton and Glenna Pearl (Echelbarger) Fink. Carol was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Plymouth and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard where she was very strong in her faith. She liked to crochet and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her husband, Jack Shaarda, whom she married on October 12, 1955; two sons, Steve Shaarda of New Haven, Ohio and Drew (Krystal) Shaarda of Mansfield, Ohio; two daughters, Dawn Graham of New Haven, Ohio and Tracy Krueger of Willard, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Erin Coovert, Mandy and Chelsea Graham, Taylor and Dylan Krueger and Autumn, Connor and Ashley Shaarda; three brothers, Robert (Coleen) Fink, Clifford (Roberta) Fink and Kenneth (Nancy) Fink; one sister-in-law, Eleanor (Shaarda) Herweyer and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Richard Fink and one sister, Mary Fink.
Friends may call on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral mass will be on Monday, August 15, 2011 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard, Ohio at 11:00 AM with Father Mike Diemer officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio.
