She was born on March 3, 1990 in Willard, Ohio to Jerry Elliott and Katrina Gurney. Cassy loved her family and friends very much. She loved being outside, especially fishing and was not afraid to get dirty. Cassy enjoyed learning to cook with her Mother-in-law to be Laura Donnersbach & her mother. She loved to learn new things and was excited to learn something then say I know this I know that and explain to others what she learned. Her favorite colors were blue, loved John Deere green and yellow. She was the biggest hearted person; she would give and do anything for anyone, even strangers. She had love for animals, she loved to go get down and dirty on her fiancé’s farm, like one of the guys and loved to ride the tractors with Jeff, her Fiancé, she was strong willed and loved life. She loved her family and her friends. Her friends were a big part of who she was. She loved them all and no one ever can say there was a dull moment when she was around. She would always be so bubbly and most of all really out spoken. If it was on her mind she would say what was on her mind. She loved to eat at Dennys & loved to hang out at the Willard Bowling Alley with her MTD friends and family. She had many close guy and girl friends. Her favorite quote was “AH– THATS A NEGATIVE”. She went to Calvary Baptist Church in Shelby, Ohio. She went to PJVS enrolled in the health academy and graduated in 2009. She then decided to work at MTD in Willard, Ohio for a few years and then wanted to attend college in 2012 at NCTC, to become a dialysis technician.
Cassy is survived by her fiancé, Jeff Donnersbach; parents, Katrina Gurney and Jerry Elliott; step parents, Ronald Gurney and Jean Dye; one brother, Derrick Lawrence of Shiloh Ohio; three sisters, Kayla Elliott of Shelby, Ohio, Kearstin Elliott of Shelby, Ohio and Zoey Elliott of Logan Ohio; maternal grandmother, Gloria Brown of Shiloh, Ohio; paternal grandfather, Teddy Elliott of Kentucky; Ruby Gurney of Shelby, Ohio; one nephew, Hunter Ray Lawrence of Galion, Ohio; her aunts and spouses Zaneta & Danny Craft of Munith, Michigan, Tonya James of Shelby, Ohio, Michelle Gordon of Shelby, Ohio; uncles Mike Lawrence of Shiloh, Ohio, Bo Isaac of Shiloh, Ohio; on dads side is Nea & Phillip Beverley Willard, Ohio, Beradine & Paul Dye of New Washington, Ohio, Penny and Jeff Burton of Tiro, Ohio, Darren Elliott of Logan, Ohio, Tammy & Marty Holbrook of Willard, Ohio, Katrina & Jamie Miller of Plymouth, Ohio and several cousins.

To Cassie’s family, Jeff, and her friends, I’m truly sorry for your loss. I worked with Cassie at MTD and sat at the lunch table with her and Jeff sometimes. Even though I didn’t know her that well, I know she will be greatly missed. Once in a while when I got a chance to talk to Cassie, what struck me the most about her was the way her eyes sparkled when she would smile and laugh about something. I’ll always remember her bubbly personality and her laugh. Work will never be the same without you Cassie. I wish I could have had a chance to know you better! My thoughts and prayers are with your family and loved ones. God will have the greatest angel in Cassie. Hope to see you again someday Cassie!

I got to know Cassy at Pioneer and was so impressed with the work she did to benefit the American Red Cross. Our hearts were broken to hear about the loss
of your sweet Cassy, what a beauty and what a great loss to everyone who had the privilege of sharing in a part of her short life. She truly had stolen a piece of our hearts. It was a sad day to learn that she was taken so soon, but she will live on in many hearts that loved her so. And she will never be forgotten.
We know that she was very much loved by her family. Cassy was a amazing girl and we will always remember her for that warm beautiful smile and her wonderful caring ways.
So may you feel comfort in knowing just how much she was loved by others. We will keep you and her whole family in our thoughts.
