Catherine "Kate" Ellen Deppen was born June 1, 1929 to John and Dora Kilgore and called to join her family and friends in Heaven on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at the age of 91.

Catherine was a sister to Harry Kilgore, Ruth (Harold) Feltner and Walter (Loraine) Kilgore. Later, she married the love of her life, Burton L. Deppen on March 15, 1947 and they were inseparable for almost 61 years. Together they had 6 children, Ruth (Jerry Draper), Joan (Mark Courtright), Deb (Dennis Armitage), Betty (Larry Jamison), Carl Heynes and Bob (Denise) Deppen. She was a dedicated wife and mother, but especially enjoyed her role as Grandmother to Jeremy, Joshua, Angel, Jimmy, Sheri, Shelly, Candice, Tonya, Amy, Casey, Ardana, Carly, Heather, Melissa, Timothy, Tina, Kelly and Kyle. Catherine also had 35 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Catherine enjoyed traveling to Kentucky, her church family, old western movies, canning, puzzle books and sewing quilts. Her favorite places to be were in the garden or in a swing under a shade tree. Above all, she would always welcome you to a great home cooked meal at her table. She passed knowledge, encouragement, guidance and love to everyone she knew. Catherine made a remarkable impression on all she left behind; she will be sorely missed but always remembered.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Catherine's life at Greenwood Cemetery in Willard, Ohio for a graveside service on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Ralph Farmer and Wesley Farmer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Diabetes Association. Online condolences can be left for the family by visiting www.secorfuneralhomes.com.
