Corrine Jane Leichty Wurm, age 91, of New Washington, was blessed with her wings passing away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at home surrounded by her family and caregiver.

Jane, as she was known, was born in Clyde, Ohio on November 12, 1930 to the late Corrine (Borer) and Clayton Leichty. She married Francis E. Wurm on November 29, 1952 and he preceded her in death on March 28, 2013.

Survivors include her seven children, Barbara (James) Pierce of Bucyrus; Diane (Dennis) Omwake of Sterling, Virginia; Alice (Alan) Roush of Tiffin; June (Ken) Geiger of New Washington; Lawrence Wurm of New Washington; Norman (Susie) Wurm of Republic; Julius (Lynnette) Wurm of Shelby; 17 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren. Brother-in-law Ralph (Louise) Wurm of New Washington, a close family friend Ray McCall of Bucyrus and a special friend and caregiver, Michelle Scott; and numerous special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters Carol M. Leichty (1956) and Joan E. Leichty Eberhard (01/01/2022); Daughter-in-law Sharon Wurm; Brother-in-law Norman Eberhard; and Great Grandson Gavreel Isiah Roush.

She graduated from the former York High School in 1948. After graduating she worked at Whirlpool. She was a devoted wife, mother, grand & great grandmother, homemaker and always helped on the farm. She enjoyed her sewing and canning; entering them in several local county fairs and craft shows. She has many blue ribbons and several Exhibitor of the Year. She found joy in canning, gardening, flowers, Christmas, and the Cleveland Indians. Jane enjoyed her retail sales; Watkins products being the longest and most recent. Travel was always exciting for her. She was a dedicated member of Golden Gems and St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family, friends and neighbors.

Friends may visit on Sunday, January 16, 2022 from 2:30 – 5:00 at Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Diemer. Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery. Family is respectfully asking that mask be worn.
