Curtis Lee Handshoe, age 33, resident of Plymouth, passed away on April 30, 2009 at his home. He was born on January 9, 1976 in Willard, Ohio, to Claude and Gaylene (Sexton) Handshoe and has been a life long Willard/Plymouth resident. He is a 1994 Plymouth High School graduate and attended the Victory Temple Church of God. He was employed with the Timken Co. in Bucyrus. He loved hunting, fishing, taxidermy, gardening, playing the guitar and music. He was a very loving husband and father.
He is survived by his parents; his wife, Tammy (Evans) Handshoe; one daughter, Autumn Handshoe; one step-son, Ethan Oney; two sisters, Carla Armstrong of Plymouth, Ohio and Katie (Rogelio Jr.) Alonso of Brecksville, Ohio; mother-in-law, Louise Evans of Willard; and father-in-law, Steven Evans of Wolcottville, IN.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Barry Handshoe; paternal grandparents, Carrie and Vince Handshoe; maternal grandparents, Grace Hoskins and Milford Sexton.
Friends may call on Monday, May 4, 2009 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Victory Temple Church of God in Celeryville, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at the church on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Earl Sexton officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be used for his daughter’s education. What a loss for everyone. Curt epitomized kindness, thoughtfulness and simple goodness. He was a great friend to everyone, especially his family. I understand how difficult this is for you Claude & Gaylene. I can only hope that your unwavering faith will provide you with the comfort and strength you need right now. We are so very sorry to have learned about your great lost. I know it doesn’t ease your pain, but if you can find any comfort in it at all God said he would help you in your times of sorrow hopefully you can lean on him to get you threw this very hurtful time in your life. I was deeply saddened to hear of Curt’s passing. I graduated with him fom Plymouth in 1994. Although I haven’t seem him much in the last few years, I will always remember him in my heart for all the smiles he put on my face with his outstanding personality and humor. He will be dearly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Claude and Gaylene, and especially Tammy and kids. May God wrap you in his arms in your time of need.

Uncle Claude/ Aunt Gaylene…I want you both to know that I loved Barry and Curtis, they were’nt just my cousins,I lost my 2 best friends and I’ll always have our memories and they’ll always be in my heart. Claude,Gaylene and Family….Curtis was a delight and joy to be around. I can always recall from the times the kids grew up together, Curtis always had a great sense of humor and a smile on his face. Tammy I am so sorry for your heart break. Just put your faith in god he will see you through the hardest times in your life. Just remember only the good die young so we now know why Curt had to go. I am soooooo sorry for this nightmare, you dont know me real well but if I can ever do anything please let me know.(I was Ethans bus driver in pre-school) He was a wonderful guy and you were a lucky young lady to have got to be with him as long as you were. I am so sorry to hear of Curt’s passing. I graduated with him and have known him forever. I haven’t seen him much since graduation, but have always thought alot of him. He was a great guy. Please know that you are all in everyone’s prayers.

We are so sorry for your loss.CB Hicks let us know.Manis stayed with Vince and Carrie years ago before serving in the army.He has spoken of them many times.We lost our 41 year old son Glenn Aug.6,2006 so I do know how hard it is.I pray for God’s comfort and help.
I am very sad to hear of Curt’s passing. Although I have not seen him in years, I remember he was a super nice guy. He sat near me in some classes in high school and was on the track team with me as well. Man he was fast. My prayers and deepest sympathy go out to his family.
