Dalton K. Schaaf, age 85, of New Haven, Ohio passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022. He was born on May 9, 1937 in Attica, Ohio to the late Donald and Jessie (Zellers) Schaaf. Dalton was self-employed having previously owned a gas station, was a wrecker operator with AAA and repossessions, owned and managed Plymouth Auto Salvage and Schaaf Auto Sales, was a good auto body mechanic having painted and restored many automobiles.
He is survived by his daughter, Terrie Riley of Alexandria, Indiana; sons, John (April) Ellis of Attica, Ohio and Ric Ellis of Willard, Ohio; grandchildren, Sheena (Donald) May of Indiana; Miranda (Jared) Deboard of Greenwich, Ohio; J.T. Ellis of Plymouth, Ohio; Cara (Austin) Brubaker of Plymouth, Ohio; Eric (Brailyn) Ellis of Mansfield, Ohio; Madelynn Ellis of Toledo, Ohio; Maddie Shoup of Willard, Ohio and Keegan Shoup of Willard, Ohio; 10 great-grandchildren with two on the way; sister, Idonna and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Kay Schaaf; brothers, Ernie, Larry and Robert and his faithful companion Chewbacca.
