Dan R. Carter, age 78, resident of Plymouth, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at his home. He was born on July 27, 1943 in Shelby, Ohio to the late Roy Wilbur and Zella Virginia (Ruckman) Carter.
Dan served his country in the United States Army Security Agency. He was a production planner for Plymouth Locomotive and loved gardening, bike riding, hiking and traveling.
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Janet (Lewis) Carter, whom he married on March 13, 1971; son, Brian Carter of Plymouth; brother, Kim Carter of Plymouth; three sisters, Bette (D.F.) Cowan of Galveston, TX, Holly (Ted) Fox of Greenwich and Martha (Robert) Forsythe of Bellville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Mary Jo Carter.
Family and friends may visit on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth from 12:00 p.m. until the time of his funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Davenport officiating. Dan has slipped from a broken body on this earth to a beautiful resurrected body in heaven. Dan was so blessed to have a family that loved him and cared for him in spite of the physical difficulties he had over these past years.
