Darrell Slone, age 72, resident of rural Willard, Ohio passed away on Friday, November 27, 2009 at his home. He was born on February 26, 1937 in Wayland, Kentucky to the late Curlis and Thelma (Terry) Slone and has been a Willard resident since 1955. Mr. Slone is a retired employee of the Norfolk and Southern Railway in Bellevue and was a member of the Victory Temple Church of God in Celeryville. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.
He is survived by two sons, Darrell C. (Yvonne) Slone of Greenwich; and Aaron J. (Denise) Slone of Reedtown; four daughters, Debra K. (Bill) Ratliff of Willard, Shiena L. Collins of Willard; Lisa L. (Kevin) Kidwell of Republic; and Karen F. (Kevin) McCarthy of Sandusky; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Charles Martin of Wayland, KY; and his special dog, Bud.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Janice Slone in 2006; three brothers, Glen, Robert and Rady Martin; and a great grandchild, Ayden.
Friends may call at the Victory Temple Church of God in Celeryville, Ohio on Monday, November 30, 2009 from 4-8 PM where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Reverend Earl Sexton officiating.
