David A. Polachek, age 77, resident of Plymouth, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020, at Heritage of Clyde Nursing Home. He was born on February 14, 1943, in Shelby, Ohio, to the late Frank and Margaret M. (Hogue) Polachek.

David was a 1961 Willard High School graduate. He proudly served in the United States Navy. A former volunteer for the Plymouth Fire Department and was a big supporter of Plymouth Big Red. He retired from RR Donnelley's in Willard, Ohio. David liked to fish and had enjoyed going to casinos with his wife. Most of all, he loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Greg (Mandy) Polachek of Willard; daughter, Sandi (Aaron) Weltlin of Plymouth; four grandchildren, Brad (Kayla) Polachek of Willard, Mariah Polachek of Willard, Nathan Weltlin of Plymouth, and Grant Weltlin of Kent; four great grandchildren, Owen, Riley, Tyler and Jaxson; sister, Mary Jayne (Aubrey) Hall of Willard; brother and sister-in-law's; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Nancy E. (Weiss) Polachek, whom he married on January 11, 1964.

Graveside services will be on Monday, May 4, 2020, at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Ricky Branham officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Plymouth Athletic Boosters or Willard High School Community Veteran Fund. I'm so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I heard of his passing on Monday, 5/4/20 after the services. Dave and I had some good times together. He had some bad times in his later life. I will miss him dearly. My thoughts and prayers go to the entire Family. He is now with Nancy.

We were so saddened to hear of Dave’s passing. He was most definitely one of our favorite reasons for singing at the Willows. We will miss giving him his featured solo. He made entertaining there so much fun. His sweet smile will truly be missed!

I am so sorry for your loss, I was just told today and was stunned of the news. He was very proud of his family, and he loved those grandkids!!!! He so loved the ball games when you took him and always talked about his grandson being a doctor. God bless.

Sorry for the loss of your dad,grandpa and brother, Before entering or leaving the dinning room at each meal Jayne would stop, look down the hallway for him. He would on occasion show up and sit with us at meal time. Our table of 4 might become a table for 8 or more and last until we were asked to do dishes. Dave is missed
