David J. Gano, age 86, resident of Apollo Beach, Florida passed away March 18, 2005 at South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center, Florida after a short illness. He was born on October 25, 1918 in Perry Twp. in southern Richland County, Ohio to the late Harry and Grace (Shafer) Gano. Mr.Gano resided in Shenandoah, Ohio for 56 years and has been a Florida resident for the past 25 years. He is a 1936 graduate of Lexington High School and a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. Mr. Gano is a retired employee of the Westinghouse Company in Mansfield after 39 years of service. He was Elder Emeritus of the Shenandoah Christian Church where he was an active member for over 50 years.
He is survived by his wife, Lacie (Renner) Gano, who he wed on May 9, 1941; two sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Linda Gano of Plymouth; Thomas and Linda Gano of Shiloh; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and John Bauckman of Shiloh; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and four nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alberta Steel and Mourine Bollinger.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Wednesday from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the Shenandoah Christian Church with Tom McFadden officiating. Friends may call one prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in Shenandoah Cemetery. Memorial expressions can be made to the Shenandoah Christian Church.
