Delmer L. Bailey, age 88, of Shiloh, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, his birthday. Born the same day in 1937 in Plymouth, Ohio, he was the youngest of nine children to the late Kendall and Rosa (Shepherd) Bailey.

Delmer worked at Plymouth Locomotive for many years before working as a handyman and carpenter. He found joy in gardening, fishing, sport shooting, and being with his family and friends. His true calling was spreading the love of God.  A pillar of the community, Delmer pastored Shiloh United Baptist Church for nearly fifty years leaving behind a legacy of faith and shepherding many to a life with Jesus. His life's work continues in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

He is survived by his two children, Danny (Linda Smith) Bailey of Crestline, and Leisha Ritchie of Shiloh; one grandson, Brandon (Brittany) Ritchie of Macedonia; great granddaughter, Bailey Ritchie; sister, Elva Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Bertha (Duff) Bailey; son-in-law Tim Ritchie, and seven siblings, James Bailey, Frank Bailey, Polly Lacey, Pearley Mize, Fred Bailey, Bert Bailey, and Roberta Cole.

Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.  His visitation will continue at Secor Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the time of his service at 11:00 AM with Pastor James Wilson and Pastor Kenny Bailey officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Bailey family so sorry to hear of Delmar passing. Such a kind soft hearted person. Delmas was always the same if you saw him once day or a hundred times a day. Never heard him say a ill word about anyone. Definitely heaven gain and our loss.

So sad to hear of Mr. Bailey passing. Each time I would see him, he would say “I had to come see my girl”. He was a wonderful man. Prayers to his family.
