Diane A. (Matteson) Long, age 77, resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at OhioHealth Hospital in Mansfield. She was born on May 31, 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Eugene and Jean (Westerman) Matteson and had been a lifelong Willard resident. Mrs. Long was a self-employed beautician and retired from Midwest Industries in Willard. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting and following her grandchildren's and great grandchildren's activities. She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where she was active as an Eucharistic Minister, and also a member of the Ladies of Columbia and a former Girl Scout Leader.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, David Long whom she married on July 17, 1965; a son, Eric and Angel Long of Willard; a daughter, Hilary and Jim Crawford of Saltillo, MS; five grandchildren, Amber (Ruben) Hernandz, Madelynn Long, Cody (Melinda) Crawford, Cary Crawford and Caty Crawford; three great grandchildren, Whitney Long, Brett Lillo and Addison Hernandez; a great granddaughter due in February of 2023; mother-in-law, Laetta Long; sisters-in-law, Agnes Balduff and Kathleen (Joe) Frederick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by a godchild, Mark Frederick; father-in-law, Albert Long; brothers-in-law, John Clayton & Lloyd Balduff; and grandmother, Fannie Westerman.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Fr. George Mahas officiating. Burial will follow in Centerton Cemetery in Centerton, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church or School.
