Dolores M. Bettac, 85, who lived most of her life in Plymouth, died at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby on July 21, 2009. Dolores graduated from Plymouth High School. She was employed for many years at Fate-Root-Heath in Plymouth, and continued to work in secretarial positions for most of her life. Dolores was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Church. She was fond of gardening and music, and loved to read and travel. She will be remembered particularly as the family archivist, always ready with her camera at family get-togethers.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Helen Bettac, her brother Ted, and her brother-in-law Charles Compton.
She is survived by her brothers Donald (Jean) Bettac, of Mansfield, Eugene (Eleanor) Bettac, of Shelby, and Joseph (Agnes) Bettac, of Willard; her sisters, Patricia (Martin) Elmlinger, of Willard, and Jeanette Compton, of Arizona; her sister-in-law, Anitra Bettac, of Michigan; and by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 on Friday, July 24, 2009, at St. Joseph’s Church in Plymouth, with Father Stanley Szybka officiating. Friends may visit with the family in the church during the hour before the Mass. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetary in Plymouth.
