Dolores Elizabeth Phillips, age 97, resident of Plymouth, Ohio passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Gaymont Nursing Home in Norwalk, Ohio. She was born on October 16, 1925 in Norwalk to the late Carl and Anna (Heitz) Fries.

A Norwalk St. Paul High School graduate, Dolores went on to work for the Norwalk Reflector. It was there that she learned the trade of Line-O-Type typing and this would help secure a position as one of the original 13 members first hired at the Willard branch of RR Donnelley and Sons. After 30 years of employment, Dolores retired.

A faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Plymouth, Dolores enjoyed volunteering her time to prepare for the church festivals. She liked to crochet and read, especially the Norwalk Reflector. Her family was the light of her life and she enjoyed the extra time spent with them throughout her retirement.

Dolores is survived by her three children, William Phillips, Robert Phillips and Rita LeSage; five grandchildren, Steven (Carrie) Phillips, Nicole (Jacob) DeKam, Kara (Matt) Reynolds, Matthew Phillips and Amber (Theodore) Schlering; and eight great grandchildren who affectionately called her Gigi, Claire and Simon Phillips, Ava and Ethan DeKam, Emma, Kayleigh and CJ Reynolds and Reagan Schlering.

In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Phillips who passed away in 1977; son, Edward “Ed” Phillips; son-in-law, Ron LeSage; and two brothers, Donald (Ida) Fries and Clayton (Irene) Fries.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary service to follow at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, May 5, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Plymouth at 11:00 a.m. with Father Christopher Mileski officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Southern Care Hospice in Milan, Ohio. To the family. So very sorry to read about your mother. I began working with her in the teletype room in 1960. She was very kind to me and taught me a lot about the job. I remember she loved talking about her children. God bless all of you during this sad time.

It was truly an honor to share in a small part of Delores' life and she will be missed. I will always keep her wisdom and the guidance she shared close to my heart. She loved to speak of her kids and talk about the events her grandkids had going on, she was so proud of her family! Prayers for all of you during this time.
