Dolores Irene Vanderpool, escaped her earthly bonds on her 86th birthday and took the hand of Jesus on February 5, 2015. She went to be with her loving husband, Phil Vanderpool after being apart for 48 years since his death in 1966.
Dolores graduated from New Haven High School in 1947 & was Valedictorian of her Senior Class. She was a lifelong member of the Willard Church of the Nazarene. Dolores was an avid reader, loved crocheting, raising a garden & canning, & she enjoyed telling stories to her children & grandchildren.
Dolores worked for Mount Vernon Nazarene College before moving to Orlando, Florida where she worked for Orange County until she retired. She moved back to Ohio in 2004 and lived in Shelby.
She will be sadly missed by everyone.
Dolores is survived by her Children Carol(Marvin) Bannworth, Phyllis(Norman) Workman, Vicky Sanders, Becky(Terry) Schnell, Melody(Shannon) Keene, Eric(Pam) Vanderpool, Joe(Justine) Vanderpool, and many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, Brother Charles Saunders, Sisters, Nell Holmes, and Rosemary Saunders.
Dolores was preceded in death by her loving Husband Phil Vanderpool, Daughter, Sandra Shea, Parents, Paul & Sadie Saunders, 4 Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren.
Friends may call prior to the Funeral from 11-1 PM on Monday, February 9th and the Service will be at 1:00 PM at Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio, with Pastor Steve Burkhalter officiating.

My sympathy to the family in the passing of your mother. I remember her teaching one of the adult sunday school classes when my husband and I started attending the Nazarene Church in the late 1960’s early 70’s.
