Dorise Mae Jones, age 79, resident of Plymouth, Ohio, former resident of Greenwich, Ohio for 54 years, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 14, 1939 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Willie and Rachel (Tuttle) Collins.
Dorise retired after 40 years of working from Pioneer Rubber Company in Willard. She was a member of Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling to Carty Hill, Kentucky with her family and friends. Her grandchildren and great grandchild were very important to her and she enjoyed spending as much time as she could with them.
She is survived by her daughter, Belinda (Darren) Koah of Ashville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Frank (Sara) Mareno of Grove City, Ohio and Megan (Nathan) Beavers of Circleville, Ohio; great grandchild, Liara Mae Beavers; sister, Gwendora (Coy) Cano of Texas; and sisters-in-law, Vonda, Phyllis and Audrey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Thurman Jones; and five brothers and seven sisters, Junior (Marie) Collins, Samuel Collins, Arnold Collins, Amos Collins, Bill Collins Sr., Lucille (Grover) Moore, Melva (Bob) Brewer, Juanita Collins Lacy, Avanelle Absher, Ruth Ramey, ImaJean (Vaughn) Baker, and Helen (Lavoughn) Isaac.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Carole and Don Gray and daughter, Shonda for their loving care the past six years and also to Stein Hospice for their compassion to Dorise's loved ones.
Family and friends may gather at Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church, 4982 Henry Road in Plymouth, on Sunday, June 9, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a church service to start at 6:00 p.m. Dorise's funeral service will be held at the church on Monday, June 10, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with the Elders of the church officiating.
