Dorothy E. Slessman, age 92, of Plymouth, Ohio passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Embassy of Willard.
She was born June 5, 1932 in Attica, Ohio to the late Raymond J. Marshall and Vera L. (Smith) Hodges. She was married in Bethlehem Lutheran Church on November 29, 1949 to the late Duane E. Slessman, who preceded her in death on February 25, 2015.
Dorothy worked for 10 years at Willard Hospital as an LPN, trained as a home health aide for Stein Hospice, and worked as a professional truck driver for Dutch Maid Logistics.
She was a member of the New Haven Methodist Church, United Methodist Womens Sunshine Club, Rebekahs Lodge #458, and Farm Womens Club. She enjoyed decorating the church sanctuary, cake decorating and various crafts.
Dorothy is survived by 7 children: Diane (Ted) Plas of Wellington, Dennis (Sharon) Slessman of Fuquay Varina, NC, Debra (Steve) Buss of Willard, Duane "Eddie" (Kerin) Slessman of Pattonsburg, MO, Doreen (Dan) Weller of Ellicott City, MD, Dwight (Kim) Slessman of Greenville, SC, DaLee (Bret) Scott of Jackson, TN, and 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Clyde Hodges, brother Lloyd Marshall, sister Sharon Brown, 2 infant sisters, son-in-law Ted Plas and daughter-in-law Kerin Slessman.
Memorial Services will be held at 2pm, Friday, May 16, 2025 at the New Haven Methodist Church. The burial will be immediately following at Maple Grove Cemetery, New Haven. Friends may call May 16th from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
The staff of the Secor Funeral Home, 202 W. Maple St., Willard assisted the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to New Haven Methodist Church through the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.secorfuneralhomes.com.

oh dorothy, the last thing i said to you was i will miss you and i love you. you’re at peace now and can have as many cookies you want and have as much ice cream as you want. it was a blessing to be able to take care of you. love you miss dorothy, i’ll see you again one day, but until then use those wings to fly higher than ever just like i know you will♥️
