Dorothy Lucille Krebs Bishop, age 85, resident of New Washington, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at her home. She was born on Janurary 1, 1925 in Tiro, Ohio to the late Henry and Alice (Fritz) Auck and had been a resident of New Washington since 1949. She was a 1943 graduate of Holmes Liberty High School, had worked at General Electric in Bucyrus 10 years and as a bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Krebs and Son. She was a member of of the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in New Washington and enjoyed reading, crocheting and taking day trips.
She is survived by five daughters, Janice C. Krebs of Athens, Mary A. Krebs of New Washington, Doris Ann Burggraf of Mansfield, Carol (Gary) Yetzer of Shelby, and Kathleen R. Krebs of Columbus; three sons, Stephen (Patricia) Krebs of New Washington, William F. “Bill” Krebs of New Washington, and Michael (Susan) Krebs of New Washington; one step daughter, Linda (Robert) Lutz of Chatfield; five step sons, Douglas (Kay) Bishop of Bloomville, James (Dori) Bishop of Hillsboro, Ohio, Terry (Kathy) Bishop of New Washington, Frank Bishop of Willard, and David (Angela) Bishop of Bucyrus; one brother, Robert Auck of Plymouth; one sister, Elsie A. Peters of Bucyrus; numerous grandchildren, step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert “Bud” Krebs; second husband, Carl E. Bishop; four sisters, Dora Metzger, Myrtle Schieber, Irene Biglin and Viola Umbriet; and four brothers, Roy, Calvin, Donald and Clarence Auck.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 10 AM. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church with Father Tommy Rodrigues officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in New Washington. Dorothy was a loving caring person who would bend over back words to help anyone. Her words were spoken with wisdom when she spoke to you. She will be DEEPLY missed by all she touched. I was one of her son-in-laws. I was deeply sadden by her passing.When she spoke she spoke of passion, wisdom, and leadership. My prayers and thoughts go out to all of the family. I miss you all.
