Duane loved the Lord and was an active member of the Willard Church of the Nazarene where, with his wife Karen, he led married couple’s groups and Compassionate Ministry.  He worked at R.R. He enjoyed the Miami Dolphins and OSU Football, 80’s music, fishing, donuts, and Big Foot.  He enjoyed fixing things and was good at it.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his wife, children and grandchildren, and his church family.

Duane is survived by his wife, Karen, whom he married on February 14, 2006; children, Kelly Paull of Dayton, Ohio; Shannon (Daniel) Parsons of Shelby, Ohio; James (Natalie) Frankart of Bowling Green, Ohio; Michael (Emily) Smith of Ashland, Ohio; and Jacob Frankart of East Lake Weir, Florida; grandchildren, Kendal, Kaiden, Elliot, Kolton, Eddie, Kody and Jack; parents, Jack and Ann Frankart of Willard, Ohio; siblings, Deano Frankart of Willard, Ohio; Dianne Frankart of Shelby, Ohio; Darlene (Pete) Gianndrea of Summerville, South Carolina; Daren (Brenda) Frankart of Willard, Ohio; and Devin Frankart of McAllen, Texas; and 35 nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Renee Frankart; niece, Braeleigh Frankart; nephew, Nick Frankart; Grandma and Grandpa Hammersmith; Great-Grandma Tessie and Aunt Norma Ross.

Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.  Visitation will continue on Monday, September 8, 2025 from 11:00 AM until the time of his service at 1:00 PM with Pastor James Pomerich officiating.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Compassionate Ministry at the Willard Church of the Nazarene.  Online condolences may be made to Duane’s family by visiting www.secorfuneralhomes.com

I was deeply saddened to hear about Duane’s passing. Though it’s been years since our high school days, I still remember his warmth and easy laughter. He had a way of making people feel seen, and that kind of spirit stays with you. My heartfelt prayers go out to his family during this difficult time—may they find comfort in the love that surrounds them and the memories that endure. Thomas Leach

Jack, Ann and family, we send sympathy. We never expect our children to precede us. It seems like yesterday that they were school mates. We must be comforted with all these good memories and a life well lived.

Karen and families, Frankart families, my sincere condolences. My heart breaks for your loss. It is one of those times we say-why Lord. But we know He has you all in His hands. Allow the Lord to give you the peace that passes all our understanding.

My heart felt sympathy goes out to Duane's family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Jesus said "There is more than enough room in my Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I'm going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am." Take comfort in His words that one day you will meet again and it will be like no time has passed. I pray for Jesus to wrap his arms around you and comforts you.
