Earl E. Fidler, age 82, of Baseline Road, Shiloh, passed away at his home Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, following a lengthy illness. He was born Aug. 2, 1925 in Shelby, Ohio to the late Anthony Wayne and Margaret (Geary) Fidler and had been a resident of Shiloh most of his life. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Plymouth, Ohio. He was a US Army Veteran, in the 278th Combat Battalion, serving during WW II. He was a member of the Plymouth American Legion for 60 years. He enjoyed coon hunting, gardening and most of all, being with his family. Mr. Fidler was the founder of Fidler Construction in Shiloh. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in their sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Bauman) Fidler, whom he married June 23, 1951; 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Dave Fidler & Vickie Resendez of Plymouth, Paul Fidler of Greenwich, Randy & Deb Fidler of Shiloh and Doug & Barb Fidler of Shelby; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Pat & Jim Bond of North Fairfield and Barb & Guy Ebinger of Parma; 15 grandchildren, Ryan, Ashley, Aaron, Brandon, Brett, Cody, Clay, Jake, Dan, Josh, Jordan, Olivia, Alix, Cori and Maddi; brother, J. Max & Marilyn Fidler of Plymouth.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony W. & Margaret (Geary) Fidler, grandson, Zach Fidler and a brother, Robert Fidler.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, where there will be a prayer service at 8:00 P.M. The funeral mass will be Wed. at 10:30 A.M. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Plymouth, with Fr. Melvin Verhoff officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, OH.
