Edith K. Penzes, age 77, resident of New Washington, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at her home. She was born on March 29, 1948 in Willard, Ohio to the late George and Sarah (Justice) Conley.
Edith attended South Central High School and was most proud of the five boys she raised. A true homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening. Edith was a professional bargain shopper who never missed a good flea market. She loved her family very much and cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her five sons, Verlin (Nicole) Sexton, Dwayne (Jennifer) Sexton, Benny (Tina) Sexton, Brian (Melissa) Sexton and George Sexton; loving family member, Lisa Hammer; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; five siblings, Alonzo (Shirley) Conley, Cynthia Stephens, Fanny (Joe) Owens, Rundle Conley and James (Debbie) Conley; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Penzes Jr. who passed away on September 16, 1987; great grandson, Lucas Moore; two sisters, Beulah (Ray) Estep and Alice (Franklin) Stephens; brother-in-law, James Stephens; and sister-in-law, Toby Conley.
Family and friends may visit at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Edith’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Greg Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio.
