Elhanon Smith, age 70, of Willard, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Scenic Pointe Nursing Home in Millersburg, Ohio. He was born on February 12, 1944 to Estill and Edna (Slone) Smith. Elhanon was a member of the VFW and American Legion and loved his classic cars, especially his 1970 Plymouth Cuda. He retired from Mayflower in Norwalk, Ohio and served in Vietnam where he received a bronze star.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Angela Garcia of Willard and Lisa (Charles) Kosse of Willard; son, Nick (Dana) Smith of Willard; 5 granddaughters Danielle, Hannah, Erica, Bobbi Joe and Sara; 2 grandsons, Wyatt and Tony; great granddaughter Phoenixx; 2 sisters, Eloise Conley of Hindman, KY and Geneva Garrett of Columbus, OH and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Estill and Edna (Slone) Smith; 6 brothers, Marvin, Orville, Rudolph, Sherrell, Denver and Larry and one sister, Aliwese McEneany.
Visitation will be Friday, February 28, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Hindman, KY, where the funeral Service will be Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00 A.M., with Elhanon’s nephew, Brother Ricky Smith, officiating. Burial will be at the Estill Smith Cemetery in Hindman, KY. Memorial contributions may be made to Tridia Hospice or Alzheimers research.
