Pastor Elianzer P. "Steve" "E.P" Luna, age 89, resident of Plymouth, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Sunday, February 9, 2020, at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation in Willard, following an illness. He was born on May 9, 1930, in La Sara, Texas, to the late Carlos Sr. and Hilda Marie (Perez) Luna.
Steve had worked as a welder at the Ross Corporation in New London, Ohio. Loved being with people, he did missionary work with his wife, Kathy, for 26 years, traveling all over to different churches. Being a Pastor for the last 7 years, he had worked with Kathy at their church, Plymouth Fellowship Church, in Plymouth. Steve enjoyed working for himself and giving a hand to others. He enjoyed holidays and spending time with family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 32 years, Katherine (Patton) Luna, whom he married on October 6, 1987; seven children, Steven Luna Jr., Robert (Bob) Luna, Rev. Albert (AnnaMarie) Luna, Gloria Luna Slusher, Marie Luna Schoen (Neil), Sharon Luna Myers (Dale), and David (Marianne) Luna; twenty two grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; three brothers, Nicolas (Starlet) Luna, Roberto (Estella) Luna, and Baldemar (Judy) Luna; a sister, Rebecca (Monte) Hale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Carlos Luna Jr. and Reuben Luna; two sisters, Hilda Aredondo and Mary Solia Luna Rodriguez; and a grandson, Thomas Slusher.
Visitation will be held at Plymouth Fellowship Church, 201 Plymouth Street, Plymouth, Ohio 44865 on Thursday, February 13, 2020, from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a church service at 7:00 pm with Pastor Ron Sallee officiating. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020, at the church, at 11:00 am with Pastor Bill Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth.
