Elva Dyer, age 88, resident of Shiloh, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2007 at her home. She was born on May 14, 1919 in Elliott County, KY to the late James M. and Nolla L. (Barker) Horton. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness House of Fellowship in Celeryville, Ohio.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Kermit Dyer, whom she wed on Dec. 21, 1940; four children, Charlotte and Lyndol Greene of Franklin, TN, Joan and Russell Estes of Shiloh, Thomas K. Dyer of Kalispell, MT, and Myra and Charles Cordrey of Louisville, IL; 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a sister, Lucy Butler of Pendleton, IN; a brother, James M. Horton Jr. of Morehead, KY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James M. and Nolla L. (Barker) Horton; an infant son, Gary W. Dyer; 5 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Monday, November 19, 2007 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ralph Barlow officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio.
