Emily Boeve, age 83, resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by her loving family, after a long illness, on Wednesday, March 12, 2020. She was born on December 7, 1936, in Amsden, Ohio, to the late Karl Baker and Margaret (Smith) Gastin.

Emily was a devout Christian, loved the Lord, and taking care of her family. She had been listed in the Shakespearian Poet Society as Decorated Author. Having sympathy towards others, Emily and her late husband, Glen, would minister in prisons. She enjoyed walking, as well as, sewing, crocheting, and other forms of arts and crafts, and crossword puzzles. Most of all, she loved reading the bible and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Lori-Ann Plato of Willard, Ohio, and Denice (Ken) Burkhalter of Willard, Ohio; two sons, John (Delia) Plato of Bradenton, Florida, and Donald Swanger of Caledonia, Michigan; four step-children; thirty grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother, Eugene Baker (Kay) of Willard, Ohio; sister, Robyn Frazier; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Emily was preceded in death by her husband, Glen A. Boeve; four children, Victoria, Veronica, Rodney, and Leo; and two siblings, Bud Baker and Viola Fry.

Family and friends may gather at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Sunday, March 15, 2020, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, with a funeral service at 4:00 pm, with Pastor Greg Griffith officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emily's family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.secorfuneralhomes.com.
