Erica A. Hintz, age 45, of Plymouth, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born on July 24, 1970 in Willard, Ohio to Merle and Sherry (Conger) Gibson. Erica was a 1988 graduate of Willard High School, and managed the Dollar General Store in Plymouth. She was a member of the Christian Alliance Church and enjoyed traveling, baking, photography, zoos, and her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Tom Hintz, whom she married on June 28, 1994; 3 sons, Seth Stephens of Plymouth, Jarred Hintz of Plymouth, and Austin Hintz of Plymouth; 2 daughters, Jerrica Stephens of Mansfield, and Jessica Hintz of Plymouth; 3 grandchildren, Aubree, Kaylee and Ashlyn; parents, Merle and Sherry Gibson of Willard; 2 sisters, Alicia Lofland of Willard, and Andrea Gibson of Willard; 6 nieces and nephews, Jeremy, Ashley, Kassidy, Logan, Morgan and Paxton; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jeannette and Gerald Hintz of Willard.
She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; and a son Ethan Stephens in 2014.
Visitation will be at the Christian Alliance Church in Willard, Ohio on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM where funeral services will be on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Bart McKelvey officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to the family to benefit her children. Sherry, I don’t know if you remember me….I grew up playing with dolls and running the neighborhood on West Avenue with Erica. We were together pretty much from sunrise to sunset. I have great memories of her. She was honestly my first friend in life! I moved off West Avenue just before starting school and lost touch with Erica, shortly reconnected in high school, but then lost touch again…..She was truly an angel among us and is now an angel with the Lord.

I’m so very sorry to hear about Erica. Not that long ago, I was upset and at DG. She gave me a hug because “hugs always make us feel better.” Keep her words in mind, hug one another a LOT and take care of each other. She had a huge heart. No one knows why things happen the way they do, just be glad she’s in a much better place and out of this crazy world. One more Beautiful Angel in Heaven. She’s with Ethan again. God be with you all. I am so sorry. I feel I have know Erica my whole life. We play together all the time as kids, and went to church and Sunday School together. Erica was a beautiful person.
