Ernie retired after 23 years as Office Administrator and Bookkeeper for Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where she worked tirelessly for the Food Pantry. She was an active member of the Council of Catholic Women. Ms. Thompson was an avid reader. She also enjoyed traveling including trips to Scotland, Poland, Ireland, Italy, and rode cross country with her sister Pam and brother Herb, prior to his passing. In addition to her parents, Ernie was preceded in death by her two brothers, Herb Caudill, Jerry Caudill; and a brother-in-law, Leo Dotson.

Services will be held in Virginia on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio from 10:00 a.m. until the start of her funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve McKnight officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests all memorial contributions be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, C/O the Food Pantry, 154 N. Main St., Harrisonburg, VA 22802.

Pam, we are so sorry to hear of Ernie’s passing. What a special gift to spend life as a twin but I am sure so painful to lose her. The couple of times that I was honored to meet her, I was struck by how you both share that quick Caudill smile and humor. Please take care…Paul & Joyce
