Eunice Nuhfer, age 79, resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 in Willard Health Care. She was born on October 11, 1928 in Shreve, Ohio to the late Charles and Martha (Rhinehart) Sampsel. She graduated from Woodville High School and became a Willard resident in 1963 where she briefly worked as a dental assistant, but at all times was a working partner on the family dairy farm. She enjoyed gardening, writing, sewing and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Nuhfer, whom she wed on November 29, 1947; one son, Gary (Amy) Nuhfer of Willard; three daughters, Becky (Lee) Ortman of Athens, Ohio, Barb (Jack) Hunter of Cincinnati, Ohio and Bobbi Fries of Willard; ten grandchildren, Kristin (George) Galloway, Lindsay Ortman, Annie (Adam) Hall, Brandon Hunter, Ross Hunter, Jason Nuhfer, Colby Nuhfer, Brock Nuhfer, Ben Fries and Sarah Fries; twin great-grandchildren Josie and Evelyn Hall; and two sisters Wanda Melching and Freda Jefferson.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sandra Nuhfer; one son-in-law, Steven Fries; and one brother, Walker Sampsel.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Friday, June 27, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ken Gifford and Rev. Lee Ortman officiating. A lunch will be provided at the church immediately following the funeral. There will be a graveside service following the lunch at 3:00 PM in the Gibsonburg Union Cemetery in Gibsonburg, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heifer Project Int. or to Stein Hospice. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.secorfuneralhomes.com
