Gennifer Lou (Collins) Jordan, 34, of Willard, died at Mercy Hospital of Willard on Wednesday, May 23, 2007, after a valiant fight to overcome Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Our “baby girl” fought very hard to live and her stubborn personality kept her from giving up right up to the very end. Her family loves her with all their hearts and she will be sadly missed, especially by her only child, Michael Collins.
Gen graduated from Willard High School in 1991 and attended North Central State College for 3 years graduating in 1995 with a Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate. She loved the geriatric generation and worked at Twilight Nursing Home in Norwalk for 3 years. She later worked for Willard Healthcare and Gaymont Nursing Home in Norwalk until she was to sick to work anymore. She was always assisting a neighbor or relative with a medical problem and she wanted to go back to school to become a Registered Nurse and then a Nurse Midwife.
Besides her 13 year old son, Michael, she is also survived by her loving parents: Kathy (Tim) Kilgore of Willard and Billy J. (Phyllis) Collins, Sr. of Attica. Her brother, Billy J. (Cheri) Collins, Jr of Bellevue, a half-brother, Travis Mullins of Sullivan, 3 step-sisters: Rachel (Michael) Adams of Solon, Alethea Kilgore of Florida, and Maria (Faycal) Banny-Maroufi of Shelby, 2 step-brothers: David Brown of Shelby and Jason (Stacy) Brown of Indiana. Her Maternal Grand-mother, Geneva Parrigan of Plymouth, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, one nephew, 2 nieces, and 2 great nephews.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents: Rachel and Willie Collins of Willard and Leon Parrigan of Plymouth and a brother, Bradley Scott Collins who died in infancy.
Friends may call at the Little Rebecca Church in Plymouth on Friday, May 25, from 2pm till 9pm with Church Service at 6pm. Funeral Service will begin on Saturday, May 26, at 10:00am with interment to follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven. Elder Buddy Carty will officiate the Church arrangements. Gennifer was a member of the Willard Church of the Nazarene.
The Family has entrusted the Secor Funeral Home in Willard to handle all burial arrangements. The Family also request that any memorials be left to the Little Rebecca Church of Plymouth or Mercy Hospital of Willard.
