Glade A. Hiler, age 89, of New Washington, Ohio, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at his home. He was born March 13, 1931 in New Washington to the late Alfred George and Maud Catherine (Lang) Hiler. Glade was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, served in the Army during the Korean conflict and retired from Mansfield Brass and Aluminum in New Washington. He was a member of the New Washington American Legion and Knights of Columbus, an avid farmer and a former trustee at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery. Glade was an OSU Buckeye Sports fan and loved to go on vacations with his family.
He is survived by six children, Marsha (Mike) Bowsher of East Liberty, Ohio, Mike (Diana) Hiler of Marysville, Ohio, Tim Hiler of St. Johns, FL, Allen (late Kimberly) Hiler of Shelby, Ohio, Trish (Kevin) Carney of Marengo, Ohio, and Randy (Roxanne) Hiler of New Washington; sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred A. "Millie" (Brown) Hiler and brother Kermit "Bud" (Esther) Hiler.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at St. Bernard's Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, where his funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM with Fr. George Mahas officiating. A private burial will follow at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery in New Washington. Memorials may be made to St. Bernard's Catholic Church.
