Gordon L. Holden, age 90, resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at his home. He was born June 12, 1922 in Willard, OH to the late Earl E. and Wilda A. (Beck) Holden and had been a life long Willard resident. He was a 1941 graduate of Willard High School and then served in the US Army during WWII. Gordon further served his country and fellow veterans as the Veteran Service Officer for Huron County for many years. He was a member of the Willard V.F.W., the Willard American Legion and a 60 year member of the Golden Rule Masonic Lodge and R.A.M. Chapter 167.
He is survived by one son, Gary L. (Carol) Holden; three grandchildren, Gregory, Brian and Carrie; three great-grandchildren; two step-children, Gary (Vicki) Beamer and Tracy (Jimmy) Arnold; two step-granchildren, Trevor and Janet Arnold.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Auliene Holden; second wife, Betty Holden; and one brother, Harold Holden.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 10:30 AM in the Greenwood Cemetery in Willard, Ohio with Pastor Doug Winner officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Willard American Legion Post. Online condolences can be made at www.secorfuneralhomes.com

It’s sad to hear the news about Gordon. I remember the summer and winter breaks from college when I had the pleasure of working with him at Pioneer/Sherwood. He set a fine example for me (& others), and was always a great guy to turn to for help.

So sorry to hear of of Gorden passing. As a child he was my bus driver and when Ray and I married he lived behind the Rymans. He was a wonderful person and he will be sadly missed. He will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Gordon Holden was my very favorite bus driver, he was so nice and kind. A person that I will never forget, he made my day by getting on the bus for school. Gary and Carol (and family), my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
